One particular Valparaiso spot is TripAdvisor’s newly crowned top-rated burger restaurant in the state. That place? Burgerhaus, 3304 Calumet Avenue. Rated “Excellent” on TripAdvisor, 106 of the restaurant’s 144 reviews are about the burgers alone.
It was a year ago in March when Burgerhaus opened in Schererville and the newest location of the local restaurant group has become the most successful.
Is there a more perfect spot for a burger joint than at the intersection of U.S. 30 and U.S. 41, the Crossroads of America? Burgerhaus recently opened its door at 813 W. U.S. 30 and serves up some of the juiciest, most creative and delightfully messy burgers.
Burgerhaus will bring its globally inspired burgers to 89 1st Ave SW in Carmel this winter. It will mark the fourth location for the Indiana-based gourmet burger restaurant. Burgerhaus launched in Valparaiso and also has restaurants in downtown Indianapolis and Schererville. Evan Costas, a Burgerhaus owner, said Carmel has the same upscale, vibrant vibe as the franchise’s original location.
A new restaurant on the downtown Indianapolis Canal Walk is all about burgers – and not just beef. Burgerhaus opened this month on the ground level of Nine on Canal residential community, 335 W. 9th St., Suite D.
The menu tells of a fictional character named Sir J.E. Burghstein, who traveled to savage lands and lost civilizations to discover and write about the “finest ingredients in the known world.” Those writings were lost in a worn leather book, then rediscovered and used to prepare the select gourmet burgers at Burgerhaus in Valparaiso.
